A New Dominican Republic – Delivery Center Serving Mortgage Lending Clients Makes Its Debut

Corporate | March 9, 2021

MILWAUKEE, WI – ThoughtFocus, a leading technology, and business process management company serving the financial services, manufacturing, aerospace and defense, and higher education industries, announced the opening of a new center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

This center was explicitly opened to fill the increasing demand of the mortgage industry and focuses on critical back-office operations of mortgage lending clients.

“Upon opening the center, our initial directive was to have three hundred seats fully up and running within a few weeks,” commented Ritesh Wadhwa, VP and Head of KPO Operations, ThoughtFocus. “However, this is just the beginning. We have very ambitious goals for the new center—within a matter of weeks, we’ll have nearly instant capacity for mortgage industry clients needing additional back-office support.”

Locating the new facility in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was an easy decision. “The DR offers near-shore proximity to our US clients, the local government is very supportive of both local and foreign business investments, and the island offers a workforce of educated, skilled, English-speaking professionals,” Wadhwa continued.

The new center’s capabilities include management of critical back-office operations, loan processing, loan servicing, mortgage risk assessment, and other functions for clients in the mortgage lending market.

Wadhwa provided further insights on ThoughtFocus’ decision to open the new center, “The onset of the pandemic last spring reminded us how important diverse geographic operations are. While many countries around the world experienced nation-wide lockdowns, the crisis hit different regions at different times. This new technology center will complement our existing technology centers in India and in the Philippines very nicely both in terms of capacity and capabilities, but risk mitigation from a geographic perspective.”

While the entire ThoughtFocus organization is extremely excited about the center’s new client service capabilities, the positive response from professionals in the market has been even more enthusiastic than expected.

“We recruit for other Dominican Republic-based BPO technology centers serving the financial services industry,” commented ThoughtFocus’ local recruiting partner. “Just within the last few days, there have been three or four candidates who refuse to be placed with another client other than Thought Focus. They’ve told us relatives and friends have told them great things about your company including, what a great place it is to work. In all my years of recruiting on the island, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a company establish such a strong employer brand so quickly.”

ThoughtFocus’ unwavering focus on serving our clients’ needs, coupled with our commitment to providing a platform for our employees to develop and prosper, positions the center for exciting success in the days ahead.
