Eight years ago, in 2016, armed with a college degree and boundless enthusiasm, I took my first steps into the realm of IT. Back then, the ‘IT world’ was more of a distant concept than a tangible reality, and my understanding of teamwork, roles, and responsibilities was in its infancy. However, all of that changed when I joined ThoughtFocus. From the outset, I was met with a level of support and recognition for even the smallest of my contributions that exceeded my expectations. This early encouragement became the cornerstone of my journey, propelling me forward in ways I had never imagined.
During my formative years, I had the privilege of working with individuals who eventually became my mentors. Their guidance extended beyond the realm of work, offering insights on facing challenges, conducting oneself professionally, and engaging effectively with clients.
One of the defining aspects of my early career was the variety of opportunities that came my way. While I initially embarked on conventional tech paths like JAVA development, I soon found myself venturing into the realms of Cloud engineering and DevOps—an unexpected turn that profoundly influenced my trajectory. This pivot not only broadened my skill set but also propelled me towards becoming a recognized authority in Cloud and DevOps technologies.
From Capital Markets and Manufacturing to Payments and Education, I have had the privilege of working across all industry verticals at ThoughtFocus. This exposure not only broadened my technological expertise but also deepened my understanding of business solutioning across various industries. Navigating across various domains has fortified my capabilities both as a technologist and as a problem solver adept at applying technology to address real-world business challenges.
The unexpected turn in my career came with a move to the United States. I had been awarded the ‘Employee of the Year’ honor twice but was not aware of what other surprises were coming my way. My efforts didn’t go unnoticed – ThoughtFocus sponsored my visa, acknowledging my contributions, and I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity. My time here has been about constant growth. With multiple AWS and Azure certifications under my belt now, I proudly embrace the title of multi-cloud engineer, aligning with my career goals.
The sweet cherry on top is the culture at ThoughtFocus; I fondly recall the pre-pandemic days filled with camaraderie and energy in the office. Despite the shift to remote work during COVID, the unwavering support and engagement events kept the spirit of ThoughtFocus alive, allowing us to unwind and enjoy each other’s company, even in a virtual set up.
As I move forward with my journey at ThoughtFocus, I’m grateful for the opportunities, guidance, and the nurturing environment that have molded my career. With exciting prospects on the horizon, I look forward to leveraging my skills within the vibrant and collaborative community that defines ThoughtFocus.
